Workers' Compensation
What are your rights as an injured worker?
Medical Treatment
Worker's Compensation entitles you to medical treatment at no cost to you.
You do not have to be treated by the doctors selected by your employer.
Temporary Disability
You are entitled to receive two-thirds of what you normally earn for any time that your doctor says you are medically unable to work due to an injury caused at work.
Permanent Disability
After an injury, you are entitled to a permanent partial disability settlement depending on the nature and extent of your injury.
Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits
If you cannot return to your former job because of limitations caused by your injuries, you are entitled to assistance in finding other employment making the same rate of pay you were making at the time that you were injured.
Death Benefits
Workers' Compensation Law states that if you were totally or partially dependent upon an employee who died as a result of an industrial injury or accident, you may be entitled to recover benefits including burial expenses and a lump sum payment.
